Language Settings

The bidcars.ch platform is fully multilingual and currently supports German and English. This guide explains how to select and change your preferred language.

Supported Languages

bidcars.ch currently supports the following languages:

• German (de): Default language of the platform
• English (en): Complete English translation

Language Selection

Language at Registration

During registration, the language is automatically set based on the following factors:

1. Your device's browser settings
2. If no browser setting is detected, German is used as the default language

This setting is saved in your user profile and used for all future sessions.

Changing the Language

You can change your preferred language at any time:

Via the Language Selector in the Header

1. Click on the language icon in the top right corner of the page
2. Select your desired language from the dropdown menu
3. The page will immediately display in the selected language
4. The setting is saved in a cookie for future sessions

Via Your Account Settings

To permanently change the language setting for all your devices:

1. Log in to your account
2. Navigate to "Settings"
3. Scroll to the "Language Settings" section
4. Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu
5. Save the changes

This setting is saved in your user profile and used on all devices where you log in.

Language Settings and Content

The language setting affects various areas of the platform:

User Interface

The entire user interface is displayed in the selected language:

• Navigation menus
• Buttons and form elements
• Error messages and notifications
• System emails

Documentation

The documentation and help pages are automatically displayed in the selected language. If you want to view a specific documentation page in a different language, you can temporarily change the language selection.

Vehicle Data

Please note that vehicle descriptions and user-generated content are displayed in the language they were originally created in. These are not automatically translated.

Translation Quality

bidcars.ch places great emphasis on high-quality translations. All texts on the platform have been professionally translated to ensure consistent and precise communication in each supported language.

Default Language for Team Accounts

Each team account can set its own default language:

1. Navigate to the team account settings
2. Select the "General Settings" option
3. Choose the default language for the team account
4. Save the changes

This setting determines the default language for new team members, but each member can still select their own preferred language.

Translation Feedback

We are committed to continuously improving the quality of our translations. If you notice errors or have suggestions for improving the translations:

1. Click on the "Feedback" link in the footer
2. Select the "Translations" category
3. Describe the translation error or your suggestion for improvement
4. Indicate on which page or in which area the error occurred

Your feedback will be reviewed by our team and considered in future updates.

Future Language Extensions

bidcars.ch plans to support additional languages in the future. If you are interested in a particular language that is not currently supported, you can let us know through the feedback form. We consider user feedback when planning future language extensions.
